Information ... My Travelling Gear

This is really for the fun of it. Here's my gear, there might not always be photos for all gear.

Backpack Meanwhile I'd buy a smaller one. Usually I tend to pack too heavy with it.

Cameras Most of the photographs that you can see on this website were taken with cheap cameras, some even single use cameras. Afterwards I had to scan them all in. Meanwhile I have two digital cameras: a Canon Powershot S20 and a Canon A20. Sure, there are better digital cameras - but I think they work great when you only want to publish the pictures on the net.

Daypack I got this camelbag as gift. It's made for mountain biking, but I find it also very practical for travelling.

Sleepingbag I have a 0 degree celcius Ajungilak sleeping bag. I bought it for the my RWT in 1997. It might be a bit warm in some countries, but those nights in a tent in the South American Andes convinced me to keep it.

Tent I bought it two years ago because the old one fell apart. It's more reliable than the former, but it's havier and takes more space.

In the past couple of months we have cycled over 1'700 kilometers in the flat parts of China: from Vietnam we were heading east to Hong Kong. From there we took a train to Zhengzhou in Henan Province. Now we are heading west. We have now left the flats behind and have reached Gansu Province. From now it's all uphill!
We have created a video about the first part of riding in China. Watch it on our YouTube Channel or directly on the video page of my website.
